Opera has an option to open all popups in the background, and as by 
default it handles all pages as tabs, does the trick very nicely indeed. 
Furthermore, I'm not aware of any great resource hogging. Generallly 
speaking, I find it meets all browsing needs, and handles email nicely 
too...
