Maybe we should start doing automated "I'm sitting at my
desk reading your mail" . Change the model around, eliminate
the need for out of office autoreplies completely by ensuring
that you send "in office, reading mail" alerts when you
sit down to your desk. Then people would know that you
were away from your desk when you weren't mailing them.
Maybe it's a new feature for spam assassin. The preautoresponder.
Get the mail to the sent acknowledging that you will be reading
it shortly.
Think of the possibilities...
Just in case you cared, I'm actually out of the office, but
still receiving mail - does that count as out of office, or
not out of office. I suppose I'm virtually in the office,
even though I'm out - so that probably make this an
autoresponded virtually in office, out of office pre warning.
