I fought with tuxracer and no sound in RH9 for a while now. Finally, I
found the answer. It's not in google (no really!) but buried deep in a
forum on tuxracer.sourceforge.net. Anyway, here it is for the archives
(and for google...).
Redhat 9 has audio turned off in the binary rpm. To activate you need to
install the source rpm and recompile. ie;
1. rpm -i tuxracer-0.61-19.src.rpm
2. cd /usr/src/redhat/SPECS
3. Edit tuxracer.spec and comment out the following 2 lines;
Patch1: tuxracer-0.61-config.patch
%patch1 -p1 -b .config
4. rpmbuild -ba tuxracer.spec
5. cd ../usr/RPMS/i386
6. rpm -ivh --replacepkgs tuxracer-0.61-19.rpm
