I guess it is just that your /etc/passwd, and /etc/group we shagged over the 
the setup rpm's pos install script. It may however have saved the originals 
as .rpmsave, or .rpmorig files; so check that.

Other than that just re-add the correct users (make sure they have the correct 
uid/gid)
