Well, I'm pretty sure the answer is you can't without a dependency upgrade
tree which includes the c library. This is not a criticism of debian (as
you're probably aware I use Debian all the time), just pointing out that
saying Debian does have 2.4.23 and pointing to those is a little deceptive.

Do you have a link to a howto on making these? I'd be interested in trying
to get 2.4.2[34] one for a recently mentioned Intel RAID system. Or if you
know of one already in existence better still :)
