[ILUG] NFS oddness

[ILUG] NFS oddness

Niall O Broin niall at linux.ie

I am using Netware's NFS support to be able to back up data from some Netware
servers to some Linux boxes but I have encountered an oddity.

[root at linux data]# ls
ls: A700.TST: No such file or directory
ls: A816.TST: No such file or directory
.
.
.

This goes on for about 20 files and then the contents of the directory are
listed. It seems to me to be a Netware namespace issue, because the files
A700.TST etc. do exist but their names are really all in lowercase. A quick
little program to do an opendir/readdir shows that the problem is that
Netware is returning A700.TST etc. in the opendir list, but in fact those
files aren't there, and an attempt by ls to stat them of course fails.

Anyone else out there using NFS for Netware on NW5.1 ?
