A while ago I told my father to use a different PC than usually as I was
using my windows box (Medal of Honour:-) ). Anyway once I opened up
OpenOffice he didn't actually know he was using Linux. He thought he was
using word.

Proves your point.

Your average user thinks Linux = the command line.
