i'd save an email to your homedir (the easiest way is to use C to "copy"
it).  then use that a2ps command until it prints correctly.  the -Plp
directs it to the printer named "lp".  if you called it something else,
then you want to do -Psomething.  if you saved that email to ~/foo, just
do this:

    a2ps -2gEmail --borders=no --strip=3 -Plp ~/foo

see what error messages it spits out.  use lpq to see what is in the
print queue.
