Told by Eircom before Christmas that ADSL Broadband was available in my
area (Clane, Co. Kildare). Signed up for "Enhanced package" ie no qoutas
- 500 users on the network and 30-40 concurrent users is normal. ADSL
would go a long way to meeting our needs
They let me know today that they are not able to supply the "enhanced
package" in my area but that I can have 512Kb download with a limit of
3Gb per month and a charge per Mb over that quota. Not much use to us
unfortunately.
Apparantly the problem is a lack of bandwidth in the exchange which will
only be upgraded if there is sufficient demand. No time frame given on
when or indeed if this will happen.
Anyone else been caught be this one recently?
