I played with a good few. Zope, Midgard etc. all the mad complex ones.

In the end I went with PHPNuke. Why ? It's so simple to get up & running,
it has loads and loads of modules, and it's so simple to write your own
modules and blocks.

I used it on Livinghistory.ie, and within a week of after hours work I
got three (simple) modules written, and it all *just worked*. There is a
lot to be said to keeping websites simple.
