Just confirming that this modem works on Debian, with stock kernel 2.4.23-1-k6.
(Using caolan's HOWTO, which I unfortunately deleted and had to grab from the
web archive :)).

One little annoyance is that $ATM_PATH is set in /etc/amedyn, but refers to
/sbin/atmarp in amnetup.sh and /usr/sbin/br2684ctl in amnet4up.sh (making 
it a bit broken). Just put full paths to these binaries in these scripts.

Also, when compiling amedyn, I had to set KERNEL_PATH and CONFIG_PATH manually
(I just set them to /usr/src/linux, which is a symlink to my actual source
dir.).
	
This is with netsource DSL BTW.
