s@/boot@@g

is a more readable form of the regexp.  You don't _have_ to use '/' as the
delimiter in sed/vim regexp searches and it saves escaping other '/'
within the regexp if you use a different char as deimiter.  I tend to use
'@' if the patterns will contain '/'.
