[ILUG] IDE RAID recomendations

[ILUG] IDE RAID recomendations

John Allen john.allen at dublinux.net

I've bought a Highpoint 454 4 Channel Rocket raid, only to discover that under
Linux the driver cracks up after a short period os drive access (lots of
abort/resets), and then the /dev/sda device becomes unusable.

I have seen recommendations for 3Ware controllers here in the past, and would
like to hear from anyone who is using a 4 channel one in a raid 5
configuration (not software raid) successfully, and where they sourced it.

TIA
