Well what would be the fastest 4 or 8-channel hardware RAID5 device in
your opinion?
I'll be using it mainly for an FTP fileserver serving both large
(500m-1gig) and small files to upwards of 30 clients.
Looking to start off with 4x 160Gig SATA 7200RPM 8meg cache drives
(Western digital or Hitachi probbaly).
Have considered RAID0, and raid0+1, but the former offers no fallback in
case of drive failure and the latter doesn't offer enough
capacity-to-drivecount, so 8-channel hardware RAID5 would seem to be the
best option in the long run.
