Hi Guys,
I received a reply from Enda Kenny (Fine Gael Leader) the other day in
reference to a mail I had sent to him months back regarding the software
patents issue. The contents of his mail are included below. I have looked
at the IFSO pages http://ifso.ie/projects/swpats.html and reckon they are
as good a starting point as any, especially
http://ifso.ie/projects/swpats.html#why . I wanted to have a look through
the mailing archives this morning, but I am unable to access to the site,
is it down for maintenance?
Anyway, what I am wondering, would someone who is better versed on the
matter than I, care to reply on an ILUG front, Paul our PRO perhaps? I
will send him reply anyway, quoting the IFSO website pages, so that he can
have a read of that, but it might be nice to a direct ILUG response as
well.
All the best,
Richard

Dear Richard
Thank you for your e-mail which I received sometime ago. Obviously, I
am not
an expert in this field and I would need some greater detail from you
expressed
in layman's terms. Please feel free to make such information available
to me
by e-mail or by direct contact. I would be happy to take the matter up
if
circumstances have changed or require this to be done.
