What I would like to find is someone who is very comfortable with hardware
and software integration on a linux platform. This involves hardware video
encoding on an x86 platform. The hardware I have in mind does have linux
drivers and an SDK available. The device will then send video over low
bandwidth links to a central location.
At this location I would like to be able to view, save and manipulate the
video to some extent but also manage multiple streams easily. I think the
management of this will consist of a database backend logging all events
with a user friendly front end. There may be existing software out there
that can do most of the central functionality but I haven't found it yet. If
anyone is aware of such a beast, it would be good to know that too.
Preferably I would like to find someone who can commit the time to it rather
than working on it in spare time.
