hi

I want to bind linux redhat 8 to solaris ver 8 as NIS
  server.

 domain: test.ca
 nis serever: roshan (sun solaris)

 linux /etc/yp.conf is

 #
 #
 domain test.ca server roshan

linux ping the server without any problem.
the result of bind is :

 #ypbind -d
  Ping host 'roshan',domain test.ca
  host 'roshan' doesn't Answer.
  Pinging all active Server.

and repeat the above steps several time without any
 result.

if I try with broadcast option ,the result is

 #ypbaind -d -broadcast
do_broadcast() for domain 'test.ca' is called
Answer for domain 'test.ca' from server 'roshan'
  Leave do_broadcast() for domain 'test.ca'
  Pinging all active server
server for domain 'test.ca' doesn't Answer.

and again , repeats the above steps serveral time
 without any result.

 who can help ?

 saeed
