[ILUG] NIS bind problem

[ILUG] NIS bind problem

Is ypbind running?
ps -aux | grep ypbind

ypbind -c parses the yp.cof file & outputs the settings

Do you have a firewall between the Server and the Client? perhaps the RedHat
lokkit firewall is enabled on the system. It may not be able to bind on it's
default port

the result of rpcinfo -p localhost is

[root at localhost etc]# rpcinfo -p localhost
   program vers proto port
    100000 2 tcp 111 portmapper
    100000 2 udp 111 portmapper
    100024 1 udp 32768 status
    100024 1 tcp 32768 status
    391002 2 tcp 32769 sgi_fam

and the result of ypwhich is

 [root at localhost etc]# ypwhich
ypwhich: Can't communicate with ypbind

about domainname, before starting the ypbind I
set the domainname manuly to test.ca .

also I add the "ypserver roshan" to /etc/yp.conf
but it didn't change anything. I comment it again.
