[ILUG] Nic Advice

Got the problem resolved - for some reason after I restarted the eth0 from
/etc/init.d/networking while online it worked!

Have guarddog now allowing all connections from nic2 to the net - great GUI
for editing iptables!

Regards,

John

Hello All,

I am trying to get a problem resolved?

The settings below don't seem to working for me. I want the UNIX on nic1 to
be the main interface to the net. The settings on nic1 work both on the dell
machine and the UNIX box. I want to put the dell machine behind a firewall
running on its own network, using nic2.

The settings below don't seem to work. I am unable to ping or ssh the UNIX
box from my dell machine. The only difference is the workgroup names, I
assume that should not be an issue as I have netbios disabled anyway.

Can you verify if these settings are correct - maybe the routing is wrong!
