I've a better idea - Lets not consider that we've been through it
before.  Just because its been discussed at length before doesn't mean
that its ever been solved.  I've been subscribed for over a year and
seen this issue raise its head tons of times.  Each time someone says
"Look we've been through this before", without acknowledging the fact
that its never been addressed beyond the "Look we've been through this
before" stage.

At least this time we are seeing some pretty good suggestions this time
- which is a first.

OK I can agree with the poster who mentioned that there's a high amount
of posts about spam, but this along with the fact that it gets raised as
a topic every couple of months is testament to the fact that is getting
on the nerves of many, many members.

Sheeeez.
