I use the Eircom modem/router - Netopia Cayman 3341.
I haven't managed to get it working as a modem, but I use it as a router
with no problems.
I have two ethernet cards in my "firewall" box. One connected directly
to the router, and the other to the house LAN.
The router side is connected directly using an ordinary ethernet cable,
not a crossover, which I found handy. The connection is configured to
run PPPoE.
No problems, apart from Eircom's lack of support for my configuration.
