Try playing games. Believe me, its nowhere near enough.
Anything over 1Ghz athlon is fine, even slower but not too much. What is
important is GPU's not CPU's
I have an athlon-xp 1400Mhz, the missus has a 2.x Ghz celeron. Both 512MB,
similar HDD's ish, same GPU's on each. I use my all the time, performace
is almost identical. explained by cpu cache? possibly, but the gpu is what
matters.
Also, you need the proprietry drivers as the OSS ones are cack. NOT OSS
developers fault, manufacturers fault!!!!! NB!!!!!
