I could not install it

either my ISO got messed up or it does not like SCSI systems
got error 11 on pure SCSI

and something about my partition table messed up on a box with a IDE DVD
burner (rest is SCSI).

I have not yet checked on the error

I installed it on my 8600.. worked fine. Nice KDE 3.2 (use Plastik ;)).

Few annoying things:
1) it asks you about CD 4
2) it doesn't install the ati/nvidia binary only drivers, but then
presents them as an option. For
my radeon at least, I used to need them to make it work in 2D, but I
guess they backported
the 2D support for the 9600.
3) it blasted my ears off when it unmuted the speakers. I booted in
rescue, turned off the
mixer restore until I had a chance to set it up. As was pointed out to
me later, a pair
of headphones in the socket might also have fixed it :)
