Flying is not a State service, nor the right of each competent minded citizen
of this Republic.
Aer Lingus is semi-State and flying on it, is not a civil right, if it were,
going to Spain on Aer Lingus would be free and every aspect of the service
would have to be accountable to the citizen.
Perhaps it is *already* I'm no expert on Aer Lingus.
Different criteria.
I think the base case stands, ie, unless dissemination of information would be
harmful to the State and by extension it's citizens, information *cannot* be
kept private, if a citizen requests to see it.
I understand the point you're trying to make though.
Each time I get on an Airplane I choose to trust that the technicians have all
done their jobs properly, so why don't I trust that the E-Voting technicians
and the people in voting infrastructure are similarly above reproach?
The same question can be asked of the non E-Voting system.
Why don't we just *trust* that nothing untoward is happening in the normal
electoral process?
Why do we allow such a level of citizen scrutiny?
Explain to me, why it would be logically and morally acceptable to remove the
ability of the citizen to scrutanise the paper based electoral system and I'll
concede the point on E-Voting source code.
It's the same argument.
