dave, I never intended to bug anybody by stating that the machine I have use at
work crashed 13 times in one day, I have a similar machine which runs SuSE 9.0 &
with my hand on my heart I can say that I have NEVER seen it crash even when I
have tried to do things with it that I was not too sure about. My other half runs
an old celeron pc & has never managed to get it to crash & boy has she tried!
Unfortunately, it's not worth the hassle trying to get the SuSE pc connected to
the network at work, as the it people are very nervous of any machine which they
did'nt install, one of them even suggested that SuSE might even have a probleb
with DHCP, & that that as it was an oddball set up I would have beg for a static
ip so they would know who to blame if anything went wrong on the network
Pat
