I hope not.
I'd be very scared of an application which thought itself sufficiently well
made, to *just deicde* to use auth protocol(x).
What if, something awful happend and the application kept magically detecting
the *wrong* protocol to use?
Bad bad, brokie, brokie.
I prefer my machines to do what their told.
Actually, I generally prefare my dates to do the same thing too.
