We haven't gotten a press release done up (yet), but I wanted to get the
word out asap since the talk is in 9 days time.

In the mean time, since it's short notice, please tell everyone.

Title: "The Dangers Of Software Patents"
Date: Monday the 24th of May
Time: 19:30h
Venue: the MacNeill theatre, which is located in the Hamilton building at the
east end of TCD (near Pearse St. dart station)

Definitive source of info is here:

Stallmans bio is here:

It looks like all the letter writing in the last week has planted some seeds
of doubt in the Councils minds, so there'll still be everything to play for
in a weeks time.

We should have a proper press release on Monday and we're going to invite a
bunch of politicians along.

This won't be a Free Software speech, it's about all types of software, and
the right to write software.

We should also have a bunch of good hand outs - about who to write to, how
the EU legislative process works, how software patents effect various groups
of people, copies of the letters already sent (for ideas). And whatever
else we can think of. (it'll all be made available online anyway though.)

GNU books, t-shirts, etc. will probably be on sale (pending permission)
stickers are free.

do come along and bring your next door neighbour.
