Have had problems with Suse linux enterprise server booting to the login
screen, and only the mouse not the keyboard working, restart the x server
and then it either works right or the keyboard works and the mouse doesnt. I
put it down to a hardware incompatibility with my el cheapo KVM switch.
I'd doubt your boot process would get to the login screen if it was a SCSI
card driver issue. Have you tried booting into runlevel 3 and see if all
works fine? Could be a similar x server problem.
