I was, indeed.  

Flashback:  I once considered buying someone's old MG TC for several
glorious, delirious minutes -- and then I got better.  So, I get to
enjoy _other_ people's horror stories about needing to disassemble their
clutches every weekend and following the Lovecraftian meanderings of
wiring harnesses from Lucas Electric.[1]
