I had a similar problem once, turned out that even though I had powered
the PC down, because it was connected to the powersupply some power was
getting through.
What to do, is to boot from the SUSE disk and run the rescue system as
that may fix the problem
I have been using SuSE since 6.0 and I still consider myself a newbie :)
