Exactly. An example: When I was trying to install my video card, and 
having no luck, I ran a search, and quickly found this post:
http://lists.slug.org.au/archives/slug/2002/05/msg00392.html

As you can see, it summarises the solution, and is posted with the 
express intent of helping future searchers. The poster could have just 
gone his merry way, happy that he had his card working, but I am glad he 
took the time to post the solution - it certainly saved me some time!
