I set up a "creative web cam go" a while back, wasnt much to it using
video4linux. Everything I needed was in the kernel (make sure you have
the i2c stuff, and usbfs helps so you can look in /proc/bus/usb/devices
and get the chip in your camera). Other than that I just followed the
video4linux docs and it all worked. Your camera should appear at
/dev/video0 or /dev/v4l/video0, you can test its working with xawtv and
after that most apps should just find it automagically. I used camserv
for basic stuff and ffmpeg/ffserver, again easy to set up.
