We use pppd in dial on demand mode for a small network. To stop the link being
kept open by pesky worms trying to get in we have the following line in our
etc/ppp/options file
active-filter 'outbound'
Recently we were looking at Mandrake 10.0 and installed it on a test machine
and the same setup now throws and error.
pppd: error in active-filter expression: inbound/outbound not supported on
linktype 0
A quick google around and I couldn't find an answer, only a guy on a SUSE
mailing list with the same issue and no reply. Can anyone explain what has
gone wrong? What is a "linktype 0"? Can I still apply active filters in
MAndrake 10.0?
Kevin.
