[ILUG] reclaiming VAT on amazon.co.uk orders

[ILUG] reclaiming VAT on amazon.co.uk orders

I have just ordered some material from Amazon in the UK and have been charged
21% VAT (the Irish rate). I am told a full VAT receipt is in the box....tell
you in a few days if its true! From what I read on the website they charge
VAT to Irish customers at the Irish rate...presumably they are registered for
VAT in Ireland as well as the UK. I did not supply them with my VAT details,
it was all worked out from the invoice address.

So I intend to claim my VAT back and see no reason why not.

Kevin.

Hi Guys,

Just wondering if any of you have purchased products from amazon.co.uk
and successfully reclaimed the VAT charged as a registered Irish
company? I can't see exactly from the website if they allow for entering
vat numbers etc for Invoice purposes?

Daragh
