The following are the minutes of the committee meeting, November 2nd.

Item 1 : "Make IT Secure" - This is a government initiative that ILUG
may be interested in contributing to.
Paul O'Malley to draft a press release in line with this.
Item 2: Management of the Linux.ie server (dagda) and possible cover
for Colm Buckley.
Secretary to determine discuss with Colm the sort of cover
he may need.
Item 3: Advancing the objectives of ILUG

Sponsorship could be sought from companies making money from Linux in
Ireland such as IBM, Novell, Dell etc.
Paul O'Malley to investigate presentation at ISME conferences.
A prize was suggested for the best(*) contribution to the Linux kernel
by a student in any educational institution in Ireland. (*definition
of "best" to be decided)
LinuxWorld/Expo - are the membership willing to plan a stand further
in advance, with more autonomy and the chance to make a better job of
it - at the risk of losing our presence there?
