Right, people wanted talks. Which is all very well & good, but we need
topics, and speakers =)
Some topics proposed at the committee meeting are:
Sys Admin
Backup, Filesystems, X, IDS
Networking
IPv6, firewalls, traffic control/monitoring/accounting, wireless
Development
java, gtk/qt, kernel, licensing, source control
Desktop
Configuration, Theming, Playing Media, File Compatibility
Choose Linux
Philosophy, Security, Community, Price, Flexibility
Introduction
Choosing your System, Installing, Basic Configuration, Services,
Updating, Installing Software, Permissions
Anyone willing/able to give one of these talks, please let us know -
either on list or at committee at linux.ie
Anyone willing to give a talk not mentioned above, likewise - and if
there's something you'd be interested in hearing about, but couldn't
give a talk, just ask! There's a wealth of knowledge in ILUG, let's
tap it =)
For those of you who like to plan way in advance, our next committee
meeting is proposed for 8pm, Tuesday 7th December, in The Porterhouse.
If we have people interested (both speakers and listeners!), we hope
to hold the first talks on Saturday 27th November - so get cracking!
The Secretary =)
