that cause them to be listed in a suitable order: e.g 0001.jpg,
0002.jpg, etc., then type in
convert *.jpg out.pdf
There are switches for pagesize and so on that you can use to
fine-tune it (have a look in the man page for details), but the
default seems ok for A4 scans to A4 output.
The filesize won't be so far removed from the sum of the jpeg images
on their own. I used this to digitise handwriten overhead
transparencies in an easy to print form and I was pretty happy with
the results.
