[ILUG] CMS

[ILUG] CMS

Hi all,

I run a webpage for my brother's band. A reasonably simple affair, but
one that doesn't get updated half often enough because of my inherrent
lazyness and his lack of computer knowledge. So I decided to port the
thing over to some form of CMS that would allow him to update the news,
gig pages, photo gallery etc. easily and generally ensure that the page
is kept a little more up to date.

I tried ezPublish [http://ez.no/ez_publish] and it seems like a pretty
good fit, but the installer crashes on me any time I've tried to add
packages like the photo gallery extension. I'm currently awaiting
feedback from their forum regarding the crashes, but seeing as how I'm
not too far down the line regarding my choice of CMS, I thought I'd
throw it open to the floor here.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a better CMS then? Ideally, it
should have a smallish footprint, be easy to update, allow tickers on
the front page showing the most recent updates from various sections,
and also not crash every bloody time I try to install it.

Thanks in advance,
Dale.
