looking into this more, this is the website for the event:

were any irish linux companies contacted about this event or requested
to do sponsorship?  honestly i'm pretty pissed off about this thing.
our tax money is being used to supplement the tech support of one of the
richest companies on the planet.

i have nothing against successful companies but why are we assisting
them?  there are loads of causes and groups that lack resources in this
country.  microsoft is not one of those.  why are we providing them with
free services?

there's no mention there of linux or apple resources.  this is free
advertising at the least and it's time taken away from the staff at
department of communications, marine and natural resources.
