[ILUG] Samba Question

[ILUG] Samba Question

Hey guys,

I've been lurking here for ages but I've never posted but now I have a
question that it seems google can't answer for me. I migrated a file server
from nt4 to a linux based nas device. It has samba 3.0.8 with acl support.
Everything moved over fine (ACLs, ACEs, data) but now everything is set
read-only and I can't get the it to come off. I remember something about
samba mapping dos attribs to the 'other' set of unix perms but I can't seem
to get that to work. I have tried 'store dos attributes' param but with no
joy.

Basically the box is a custom RedHat box rebranded by AMI. It has a 2.4.20
kernel with XFS and Posix acl support.

If you need the smb.conf I can mail it but am leaving it out here for
brevity.

Thanks in advance,

Paul Mullen,
Sys. Admin.
P J Hegarty & Sons.
