Ah - fault in my writing, I'm afraid. When I said

the it refers to the graphics card, NOT ATI's binary module, which I
have NOT installed (so it's OK to still talk to me)

It doesn't and I would, if I could, but man radeon does nothing for me.
A quick "locate radeon" on my box didn't find such a man page, but it
did find a radeon kernel module, which wasn't loaded. I loaded that,
and restarted X, but still no joy.

I rather suspect that my config file is fubar in some minor (or major)
way. Would any kind soul have a working config for xorg with a dual
head radeon 9200 setup?
