Hi all,
I have been trying to get 3D accelleration on my G200, but so far nada:
[root at charzard root]# glxinfo
name of display: :0.0
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Error: couldn't find RGB GLX visual
XF86config cotains the necessary lines (I think) :
[root at charzard root]# grep glx /etc/X11/XF86Config-4
Load "glx" # 3D layer
Load "/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/extensions/libglx.a"
[root at charzard root]# grep dri /etc/X11/XF86Config-4
Load "dri" # direct rendering
I even recompiled the kernel 2.6.8-1 with matrox stuff compiled in
(modules)
But when I "modprobe mga": it loads all right, but is not used!
[root at charzard root]# lsmod |grep mga
mga 112612 0
I take it this is the wrong driver?
bash-2.05b$ /usr/bin/lspci |grep Matrox
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Matrox Graphics, Inc. MGA G200 AGP
(rev 03)
Whats going on? I have perfect 2D, but no 3D.
I even went and downloaded the latest drivers from Matrox, and the
install script tells me:
XFree86 driver: Up to date.
HAL library: Up to date.
DRI module: Up to date.
I installed the mgadesk utility, which runs fine, sets up my display, I
restart X and still no accelleration!
bash-2.05b$ rpm -qa |grep XF
XFree86-server-4.3-32.1.100mdk
XFree86-4.3-32.1.100mdk
XFree86-75dpi-fonts-4.3-32.1.100mdk
XFree86-xfs-4.3-32.1.100mdk
bash-2.05b$ uname -r
2.6.8-matrox
dmesg reports:
[drm] Initialized mga 3.1.0 20021029 on minor 0: Matrox Graphics, Inc.
MGA G200 AGP
What am I missing?
