Ive been a Slackware user for a good while, since Slackware 9, Im on 10 now.
As a simple server its great, it's also my desktop which suite me down
to the ground.
But if your after something to use rather than to learn then i would
recomend the latest SuSe you can get you hands on.
Installed Suse 9 on my friends packard bell laptop and EVERYTHING
worked out of the box, the winmodem, graphics, sound, network even USB
camera's(which I couldnt get to work in slackware or mandrake).
Im still gona stick with slackware, or i might move up to freebsd(ive
been itching to give openbsd a try), just for their simplicity.
