Hi Paul,
Thanks for your reply.
I'd forgotten that by switching to Libranet I had a newer kernel and the
option of the tun/tap setup.
However, I still have the same type of problem:
I run UML with
linux con0=fd:0,fd:1 con=pts con1=tty:/dev/tty8 eth0=tuntap,,,ip address
and when I run ifconfig eth0 (ip address) up on the UML I get
tuntap_open_tramp : didn't receive a message
* insmod tun
insmod: tun: no module by that name found
Opening /dev/net/tun failed : No such device
tuntap_open_tramp failed - errno = 22
tuntap_open_tramp : didn't receive a message
* insmod tun
insmod: tun: no module by that name found
Opening /dev/net/tun failed : No such device
tuntap_open_tramp failed - errno = 22
/dev/net/tun exists on the host system, but not on the UML. I'm wondering if I
need to recompile the UML kernel to include tuntap support? (grasping at
straws!).
Regards,
Cormac.
