I've played with jalbum, but my theme is pure html (no php). The upside is
that it's fairly easy to build your own theme (by tweaking others). also,
it's pretty neat for digital photography as it can get the exif info for you
from pics.
The downside is it's a "build and upload site" thing (at least that's how
i'm using it)...
.. there are some interesting themes for it out there though :)
