I'm a newbie so this could be very simple, though some googling didn't help...
My son's PC (Suse Personal 9.1) is running very sluggishly, and when I
run top, it shows several (8-10) hwscand processes eating up the cpu
cycles. If I kill them all, it runs fine until the next boot, when the
same thing happens again.
It was running fine until about a week ago, and the only thing that's
changed hardware wise, is that I have started plugging in his digital
camera (via usb, and mounting /dev/sda). However the problem occurs
even when the camera is not plugged in.
Any help much appreciated.
