I noticed that too - xmms has some strange properties in that respect. I
spent a while trying to script a solution with eds/artsd,
mplayer/ogg123/mpg123 and quake3. Couldn't get them running
simultaneously - then just tried xmms - if it's using ALSA it doesn't
lock /dev/dsp... maybe :)
