No you're not.

When I first drew up the constitution, ILUG events had been organised
on an adhoc basis by individual members - John Looney organised a number
of meetings, and a group came together to organise a stand at one of the
trade shows.

The entire purpose of the constitution was to form enough of a structure
around ILUG to enable us to open an account (especially as we'd be given
the remaining funds of the defunct Irish Unix Users Group and that money
had spent two years resting in a member's own bank account).   It was
never the intent that the adhoc nature of organising stuff (especially the 
POTDs and stuff) should be handed over to the committee.

This comes up often enough it should be in FAQ,
