[ILUG] usb storage

[ILUG] usb storage

Is it just me, or is Linux's USB storage ropey in the extreme. It could
be my nForce based box, but it seems most USB stuff I plug into it goes
squiffy. I've a MP3 player that just won't work. I've a usb hard drive
cradle that much of the time, if hotplugged, gets errors like "USB device
won't accept bus id 2" or whatever.

Is it known broken on nforce, or known broken full stop ?

john
