[ILUG] Eircom Broadband Setup

Hi all,

Have just installed FreeBSD on my laptop (dual boots WinXP).

I have an ethernet network card and want to use it to connect to the internet via my eircom supplied Netopia Cayman 3300 modem.

eircom say the don't support linux machines, but i should be able to do it this way shouldn't i????

I have gone to sysinstall to configure my network card but am unsure what to enter for fully-qualified host name and domain.

Am i going about this the right way??? I'm a relatively new linux usser, and any help would be appreciated.

regards,

Danny Browne.
